Bread of Life Outreach

Every week we have a team that goes into the homes of needy families to deliver the “Bread of Life.” We are there, not just to meet their physical needs, but to minister to their spiritual needs. These people are hungry for the love of Jesus Christ. They are so blessed to have some one who truly cares about them take the time to pray with them and minister to them. Recently, a team went into one of our adopted neighborhoods to deliver bread and approached the door of a single mother named Shawon. She was so blessed by the fact that some one cared about her enough to tell her about Jesus. That day, she met the One who loved her so much that He died on a cross to save her. She accepted Jesus Christ into her heart to be her Lord and Savior! Shawon’s life has been forever changed! For Rosa (pictured in the center), an 80-year old woman in one of our adopted neighborhoods, the day that Joy Ministries came into her neighborhood for our Bread of Life outreach was one she will never forget. When our workers, Rosely (pictured to the right) and Alexine (pictured to the left), knocked on her door she invited them into her home. She was so thankful that Joy Ministries was reaching out in her neighborhood to help the residents.
As they were talking, she told them about some of the things that had been going on in her life. She felt abandoned and lonely. It was hard for her to get around because her legs and knees were very weak. Her children live in different cities and are not able to help her because of things that they themselves were going through. She had a friend who often came to help her that was no longer able to do so. Many times, as she walked through the neighborhood to get groceries at a nearby store she was knocked down and her money was stolen from her. She was very discouraged to say the least.
Rosely and Alexine laid hands on her and began to pray. She was so encouraged that the Lord had sent them to her. Before they left she looked at them and said, “This morning I was crying out to God and He told me that He was going to send me some help. He told me that He was going to bless me.” She smiled and thanked them for being obedient to the Lord, and began to praise God for His miraculous provision. Since then, Rosely and Alexine have brought groceries to Rosa and have continued to minister to her.
