Me, Called?
Esther wasn’t born at the top. She was an ordinary girl. Okay, so she was “lovely in form and features” (Esther 2:7), but the Bible doesn’t say she was a bombshell or anything. Yet God used her to do extraordinary things. First Corinthians 1:27 says that “God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty” (KJV). Why does He do that? God loves to use those who seem the least likely to succeed or win because, when they do, He gets all the glory. God always does big things with small resources. He fed the five thousand with two little fish and five loaves of bread. God didn’t use the artillery of a large army to defeat the giant Goliath; He used a small stone from a slingshot of a little boy named David.
Fine-tune Your Focus
Picture yourself at the palace, along with all of the other candidates for queen. I’m sure many of them were daydreaming about what it might be like to wear the crown and sit on the throne. But daydreaming didn’t get them anywhere, because daydreaming is very different from having a dream. Daydreaming is entertaining a fruitless fantasy about a desired outcome; it puts no action or effort into making that outcome a reality. Daydreams come at a cheap price—just a few hours or moments of your time. But a dream costs you everything—time, effort, and, perhaps most of all, focus.
Trust in God’s Timing
One day, Esther was living an ordinary life, and the next day, she found herself in the palace. When God’s will and God’s timing intersect, suddenly, we are thrust into our purpose and place in God. The key is to wait for His appointed time to arrive.
Prepare for the Palace
God has a special call on your life. There’s a realm of His kingdom that needs a standard setter, and you’re the one He wants. But you’ll have to undergo a process of preparation to get there, just as Esther had to do at the palace.
What others are saying about
Pathway to the Palace
"Pathway to the Palace rings of truth for all of us and describes the importance of having a strong core. I had a trainer for a while who really helped me with exercise and spoke to me much about developing the core. Pathway to the Palace will help you develop a spiritual core, which is key. Without God as your core, situations can fall apart in your life. God bless you, Danette, for the strong word that you bring through this book."
